The Week’s Market Analysis
- Western Kenya especially Kitale started harvesting maize, which caused a drop in the price of maize to Ksh26/kg, making maize cheaper in Kenya than in Busia, Uganda (Ksh29.5/kg). For the first time in a very long time, Kenya started exporting maize to Uganda. Uganda maize exports to Kenya drastically dropped in the week.
- DRC exported peas, groundnuts and soya beans to Rwanda through Rubavu border.
