Maize prices as of 21 April 2025 in Comparison to 31 March 2025 were as follows,
- The price of white popcorn did not change for both the wholesale and retail.
- South Africa Mealie Meal wholesale price dropped by 2.93Kwacha/Kg (-18%), while retail dropped by 3.3Kwacha/Kg (-18%).
- The price drop was due to a stronger Kwacha against the US$.
- Local popcorn wholesale and retail remained the same.
- Lasalasa White Popcorn wholesale price dropped by 3.33Kwacha/kg (-29%), while the retail price dropped by 3.33Kwacha/Kg (-25%). That price drop is one trader should look out for because when compared to the profit margin, it could easily lead to losses, especially since the % are higher for both the wholesale and retail.
- Orange Popcorn wholesale price dropped by 1.67Kwacha/kg (-20%) while the retail price dropped by 1.67Kwacha/Kg (-17%).
- Maize Flour wholesale price dropped by 3.64Kwacha/kg (-18%), while the retail price 3.74Kwacha/kg (-18%)
- The price of fresh maize remained unchanged.
